A Taste of Old Ybor City in Brandon, Florida
November 28th, 2008 Categories: Brandon, Things To Do
Having grown up in the Tampa area, I have fond memories of traveling from south Tampa to Ybor City along Seventh Avenue. We would often stop there to eat or pick-up food for a trip to Busch Gardens or Orlando. My favorite as a kid was a Cuban sandwich and a Deviled Crab roll. At some point my parents made me broaden my horizons and I tried Lechon Asado (roast pork) and black beans and rice w/plantains. This quickly became my new favorite, and is to this day.
I moved to Brandon as an adult, and I was delighted when La Septima Café, Brandon’s First Authentic Spanish Restaurant opened. This is one of my favorites, when only Spanish food will do.
“Septima” in Spanish means “seventh”- as in Seventh Avenue, the street that has for years been the heart of Ybor City. Read the rest of this entry »

The Palmetto Club at FishHawk Ranch – Lithia Florida
November 28th, 2008 Categories: FishHawk, Things To Do
FishHawk Ranch, an award-winning, master-planned community in southeast Hillsborough County, has a reception hall perfect for weddings, anniversary parties, company functions and special events. The facility features a 5,200 square foot ballroom that can be divided into three smaller rooms for more intimate gatherings. Spacious outdoor veranda and garden areas, a conference room, pre-function area, and catering kitchen all add to the versatility of the club. The facility is located conveniently, right in the heart of the community.
I have attended two functions at the Palmetto Club and they have both been awesome and first class in every way. If you have a wedding, reception or other function coming up, check this place out. I think you will like it.
The Palmetto Club is located at 17004 Dorman Road Lithia, FL 33547 and can be reached at 813-657-0062

I’m not usually a violent man…
I have never been much for violence. As a matter of fact I don’t even own a gun or rifle. Now I am not one that is against the NRA or anybody that owns a gun.
As a matter of fact, I had to borrow a gun from a friend of mine so I could protect my property. I borrowed a 410 Shotgun from Jim. I distinctly remember the conversation. Read the rest of this entry »

November 22nd, 2008 Categories: Apollo Beach, Bloomingdale, Brandon, FishHawk, Real Estate Investment, Riverhills, Riverview, Valrico
If your home has been listed in the MLS, and it is getting ready to expire, I would like to make a few suggestions…
- Get a new agent… May I suggest me…
- Set up the new listing to begin the day after the current listing expires…
- Go on a nice vacation for a few days…
- Don’t forward your home phone to your cell phone… and you might consider NOT sending it to voice mail…
Why you ask?
Because it is going to get ugly. Read the rest of this entry »
