Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County Florida is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, whose mission is to provide decent, affordable housing for people in need.
These homes are provided at NO PROFIT, with ZERO INTEREST to those families who could not otherwise afford to purchase their own home and who meet Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County’s requirements.
Qualifying for A Habitat Home
To be considered for a Habitat Home, the following must apply to the applicant:
- Must demonstrate a need for adequate shelter and must be currently living in substandard housing
- Must show an ability to pay a monthly mortgage payment. Average monthly mortgage payments range from approximately $350.00 to $550.00.
- Must be able to provide $1,500 to assist with closing costs.
- Must display a willingness to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County
- Must fall in the minimum and maximum income guidelines in order to qualify for a home.

Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County Florida Needs Your Help!
Habitat plans to build 4 new homes in the Tampa, Florida area between January 23 and 31 during SuperBuild 2009. To accomplish this goal, Habitat will need 120 volunteers per day! There is no charge to participate in SuperBuild 2009. You’re invited to participate in this exciting event. Click below to volunteer to help! Also, Habitat needs help with meals for our volunteers each day, and you can help by making a monetary donation for SuperBuild 2009 meals or gift cards from Dunkin’ Donuts, Little Caesar’s, Pizza Hut, Publix, SweetBay or Walmart.
